Pakistani Secret Services Underfire over Unending Enforced Disappearances

Under compelling conditions, the victim families of thousands of enforced disappeared citizens in Pakistan have started sit-in protest for an indefinite period in capital Islamabad. At the heart of their pent-up anger, are the tragic stories on how their loved ones were illegally detained by country’s secret services. Most of them have been languishing in secret jails without any charge-sheet. And without any information to their families regarding their whereabouts. Sadly there appears least concern in corridors of power and mainstream media which prefers to skip such protests not necessarily because of fear of intelligence agencies but due to inherient bais against victims who appears to carrying Islamic family background.
